Ixia Helps FreeBit Test Conformance of ServersMan(R) IP Stack Architecture

CALABASAS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/24/10 -- Ixia (NASDAQ: XXIA), a leading, global provider of converged IP network test solutions, today announced that FreeBit used IxANVL for conformance testing of its latest version of the ServersManreg ; product. IxANVL was able to not only speed up time-to-market for the new product, but reduce expenses and catch bugs before the product was in the field.

In February 2009, FreeBit began offering a free software application -- ServersManreg ; -- that uses Internet connected devices as a server. ServersManreg ; is the worlds first free software application that vertically integrates web services, digital equipment, and household appliances. FreeBits Emotion Link product, central to ServersManreg ; architecture, builds a secure node-to-node virtual network on the existing TCP/IP network by passing over NAT and firewalls. A browser can remotely access applications and/or devices that are connected to the Emotion Link connection, and deliver data to and from the appliance in question.

FreeBit needed to test the TCP/IP network functions of these two applications to ensure that their implementation was in conformance with set standards, and could seamlessly interoperate with other TCP/IP devices and networks. FreeBit chose Ixias IxANVL as their conformance tool to verify the operational compatibility of Emotion Links core protocol (TCP/IP, UDP, IPv6 stack).
